The Orphic Hymns are a collection of ancient Greek poems honoring the Greco-Roman gods that originated somewhere between the 3rd century B.C. and the early Roman empire period. They were translated into English by mystic polymath Thomas Taylor in the late 18th century. I started writing accessible, folksy, traditional-sounding tunes for the Orphic hymns in 2019. I plan on making songs for all 87 poems plus extras that are not included in the original Taylor canon, such as Hekate.
